Dinosaur Quarry digging rights in Hyattville, WY

Hyattville, WY, is located on the Paintrock Creek. This creek is the main tributary that flows from under Cloud Peak in the Big Horn Mountains.  Overlooking the Paintrock valley, lies a dinosaur fossil quarry rich in history.

The Paintrock Quarry is home to “Lion of the Jurassic “: the Allosaurus, the giant plant eater Diplodocus and the Camarasaurus.

A huge economic benefit to this quarry’s digging rights is that the overburden is shallow.  Another economic benefit is the recent land survey and the two separate land access easements.

Researcher, Ben Pabst, from Switzerland, dug on this site for 5 years. The fossils found will be listed and for sale.

Shell, WY,  north of the Paintrock, possesses two more dinosaur quarries. Howe Dinosaur Quarry and Red Canyon Ranch Quarry. Several dinosaur fossils have been collected throughout the years. Paleontologist, Kirby Siber, has many of these fossils on exhibition around the world.

In 2004 Dinosaur hunter, Bob Simon, and Paleontologist, Kirby Simon, collected a complete Stegosaurus fossil at this location: “Sarah”.   Also, in 2007, a complete, articulated, Camarasaurus, was discovered and excavated.

To the south, is another quarry, on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land, worked on by the University of Wisconsin.  Discovered in this site is the Apatosaurus.

Rarely, is there an opportunity to own quarrying rights on land like this, so rich in history and beauty! There is so much more yet to be discovered.
